We chefs and cooks may be at a loss as to exactly how to help. However, we must dedicate our energy to bringing back to a comfortable lifestyle to those in need. The group is working from many angles and has already collected contributions and sent delicious confections to many. As a lone chef, my means may be slender, but I want to offer my utmost. I feel that, like people of all walks of life, if enough chefs get together we can create a truly meaningful contribution. Let us widen the circles of support more and more, and do our utmost to bring back your smiles even one day earlier.

Kihachi Kumagai


Worked as the executive chef of the Japanese Embassy in Seneg al and in Morocco. Cultivated his cooking skills at Maxim in Paris, and worked at Hôtel Concorde La Fayette as a section chef. Returned to Tokyo and opened KIHACHI in Minamiaoyama. Now directs 10 restaurants in Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya and Osaka.
